Venice, oh Venice

Venice. Arrived with 760 horse power, we met 30 degrees and a lot of sunshine. We left with the same horse powers, but with 18 degrees and quite some rain. In between, our AirBNB host Davide picked us up at the final station of our vaporetto and showed us our flat – which was nothing short of awesome. Very neatly designed and absolutely spotless, it was located in the eastern part of Venice, a bit off the beaten tourist track. After some frutti di mare and a massive Pizza, we found out the hard way that most of the streets in Venice look alike – at night, and to a stranger. The rain storm that suddenly set in did not much to help the situation. When we finally arrived at our doorstep, we were soaking wet and quite cold – but we would not want to miss running around at night in the narrow streets of Venice in what is best described as a flood from heaven. What an epic moment!

The next day, it was still raining, but we decided to do what any tourist has to: Walk through the really beautiful city and admire the quite unique architecture and canals. Our backpacks proved to have been the right choice, as well as our companions: Daniela, Simon and Manuel did us the honor of accompanying us on this first stretch. Good times!

  2. It’s an amazing trip so far, the best part was indeed the race through the pouring rain. Epic describes it best 😀 and did you know they sell alien cookies in Venice?
