Koh Phangan stands for…

“Since we are in Thailand anyways, let’s go to the famous Fullmoon Party in Koh Phangan.” That’s what I said to my husband and booked a flight from Phuket to Koh Samui. I found out that domestic flights in Thailand are not as cheap as I expected. The party took place on December 6th, the “Samichlaus Tag” in Switzerland. In a somewhat bumpy 20-minute ride, a speedboat took us and 40 other party-goers to Koh Phangan. We were equipped with our camaras and some quite negative prejudice from what we’d read and heard about this party. The news circulated of two tourists having been murdered at the Fullmoon party in September, so we were prepared to watch out. I put together a little video clip for you to get a feeling of the vibe at the party. Keep in mind, that the video probably doesn’t do the party justice: I am a bloody beginner when it comes to video editing, and the party was actually quite good!

We skipped drinking from these buckets, so we did not have a hangover the next day. Therefore we were able to rent a scooter and drive around the island. It’s pretty small, I suppose we could have gotten around it in about 2 hours. It took us way longer than that, for we kept getting interrupted by tempting coffee shops, gorgeous beaches and what we felt was probably the most spectacular sunset on our trip so far.
